I am using my mobile data till now and I think its not that cost friendly. Some people were suggesting to get a WIFI but I don't know how and where to go. So can anyone provide me with good info. I live in tingsong dorm. Anyone using this platform who has experience with this, I would love your help.
Hey Mehfil just came across this forum post and found out that you have been dealing with the problem to set up the wifi. So what you need to do is, you need to go to the place in Donghe. There is Luckin Coffee store in the Donghe just below the dorms of chinese students, so if you go to gate of Donghe dorm and go inside, and to your right you can see tall building which is a dorm for chinese student and on the ground floor you will see two shop, one of them is Luckin Coffee and that is the place you should be going to. And once you enter that shop look to the left there is small place where there are employees of China Mobile and you ask them that you need a wifi in your dorm and they will help you with it. And things to aware of: make sure your SIM is China Mobile, if it is from another provider like China Unicom then you have to convert your SIM card to China Mobile. Also don't forget to take your Passport and money to pay upfront for setting up the wifi.
don't worry you can go there and ask them to convert your SIM card to China Mobile, well I also had the same problem and they helped me convert to China Mobile and worst case scenario if due some reasons they cannot convert it like it once happened to my friend, then they can give you instructions to go to you service provider to make some changes and they will help you after that but its kinda rare, I would say.
Like I did this thing previous year so it cost me 120 yuan for a whole year. So it might be same right now. If it has increased then maybe by 20 or 30 yuan but I think it will also cost 120 for you. But they might charge you little bit more for the first time due to some other cost idk maybe 150.
honestly no idea about that like I feel like China mobile is the only service provider providing wifi service to this university dorms. So might have to ask school on this matter.
